The Wizards will retain their first-round pick by virtue of missing the playoffs, Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington notes. The pick this year was lottery protected, stemming from a 2020 trade with the Rockets. The Knicks now own the pick, which is top 12 protected in 2024, top 10 protected in 2025 and top eight protected in 2026.
