The Terps will take on the Bison after a season-opening victory over West Virginia.
Maryland football will face the Howard Bison in its second game of the season after taking down the West Virginia Mountaineers during the opening week.
The Terps look to continue to build momentum against a Howard squad that lost its first game of the season. Junior quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa is coming off of one of the best games of his Maryland career, throwing for 332 yards and three touchdowns while committing zero turnovers.
Redshirt senior running back Tayon Fleet-Davis is also coming off a solid performance, posting 123 yards on just 18 carries, separating himself from other running backs on the roster as he looks to become the clear-cut starter.
On the opposing side, Howard is coming off a tough loss on the road at Richmond, losing 38-14. Howard quarterback Quinton Williams put up 226 yards and one touchdown along with zero turnovers in the Bison’s first game. Howard faces an uphill battle facing a Big Ten opponent on the road, especially considering the one-sided history between the two teams. Last season, the Terps dominated the Bison in their last battle, defeating them 79-0.
Maryland’s captains for the game will be defensive lineman Lawtez Rogers, tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo and kicker Joseph Petrino.
