Just about every NFL team is taking part in joint practices this year and having a good time of it. But a joint practice between the Baltimore Ravens and Carolina Panthers today got a little more heated than the teams were hoping.
According to Jonas Shaffer of the Baltimore Sun, there was a “mini-fight” involving Ravens wide receiver Binjimen Victor and Panthers defensive back Jaycee Horn. Per the report, Victor got hit hard on a crossing route and retaliated by throwing the ball at Horn.
Things reportedly got very heated from there. Dozens of players moved in on the two and punches were apparently thrown.
By all accounts, it took several minutes before the two sides cooled down. The video below is a short clip of the ensuing scrum:

It remains to be seen if Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh or his Carolina Panthers counterpart Matt Rhule punish their respective teams for what just happened.
Weeks ago we saw New York Giants head coach Joe Judge punish his team for engaging in a brawl. And it caused quite a stir.
Joint practices are relatively new to the NFL and not every team has experience with them. There are bound to be miscommunications that lead to issues between the two teams.
Hopefully we don’t get any more fights like this, otherwise teams might shy away from joint practices in the future.
