The San Francisco 49ers could be in need of some help in the secondary following Sunday’s injury loss.
The 49ers beat the Lions in a pretty wild game on Sunday. San Francisco led big throughout the contest, but Detroit made a ferocious comeback that ultimately fell short.
In the win, the 49ers likely lost cornerback Jason Verrett to a season-ending injury.
San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters following the win that the team believes Verrett suffered a season-ending knee injury.
49ers’ HC Kyle Shanahan said his team believes CB Jason Verrett tore his right ACL today in the fourth quarter.

Richard Sherman remains a free agent.
The five-time Pro Bowl cornerback could be an option for the 49ers. Shanahan admitted this following his team’s win.
“We’ve discussed it and I’ve talked to Sherm about it, too,” Shanahan said, via Matt Maiocco of NBCSportsBayArea.com. “Sherm’s always a possibility.”
The 49ers improved to 1-0 on the season with Sunday’s win. San Francisco will look to move to 2-0 next weekend against the Philadelphia Eagles.
