A.J. Brown went from hero to sidekick when the Tennessee Titans acquired Julio Jones from the Atlanta Falcons earlier this year. It was a welcome change for the 24-year-old star.
Brown has carried the Titans’ wide-receiver unit for two years now, catching 122 passes for 2,126 yards and 19 touchdowns. He’ll now split some of his workload with Jones, who finally escaped Atlanta earlier in the offseason. The Brown-Jones duo is one of the best in the NFL, and should give opposing defenses nightmares for years to come.
Brown recruited Jones all offseason, but he was still surprised when the trade was made official. In fact at first, he didn’t even believe it was real.
“When I found out, I didn’t really believe it,” Brown told NFL Network on Monday. “I was like this has got to be a joke.”

Julio Jones, 32, will now have the responsibility of mentoring A.J. Brown, who just recently turned 24.
Brown is already considered one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, which is pretty impressive considering he plays in a run-heavy offense. With Jones now in the fold, the Titans may elect to throw the ball a bit more often while still giving plenty of touches to bulldozer Derrick Henry.
If the Titans stay healthy this upcoming season, it’s plausible we could see them run through the AFC and make a run to the Super Bowl.
