Coming off the historic season they just had, Cleveland Browns fans are super excited for the season ahead. They showed as much with their attendance at the most recent practice, and QB Baker Mayfield was delighted.
Following Browns practice today, Mayfield spoke to the crowd and thanked them for their attendance. He pledged that the Browns would set “a new standard” and that the team is ready to give fans what they want.
“I don’t know anybody else in the country that would have this many fans at a practice, so we appreciate you guys,” Mayfield said. “We’ve been working, we’re setting a new standard and these guys are ready to rock for you guys.”
Last season the Browns went 12-4, making the playoffs for the first time since 2003. They then knocked off the rival Pittsburgh Steelers for their first playoff win since the franchise returned in 1999.

Baker Mayfield was perhaps the biggest factor in the Browns’ superb season in 2020. After two decent seasons, the former No. 1 overall pick finally cleaned up his turnover issues, throwing for 3,563 yards and 26 touchdowns with just eight picks.
The Browns spent the offseason tying down their core players and adding even more weapons on both sides of the ball.

Needless to say, expectations for the Browns are high this year. Many even have them as their Super Bowl picks.
But the first step is making it through the preseason and training camp. And right now, the Browns look ready for anything.
