The Cleveland Browns entered the 2020 season with uncertain expectations thanks to a completely new coaching staff.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski led his team to an 11-5 record and it’s first playoff win in what felt like forever. It was just an added bonus that dominant playoff win came over division rival Pittsburgh.
He also brought out the best in quarterback Baker Mayfield. In his first year in the Stefanski offense, Mayfield finally looked like the No. 1 pick from the 2018 NFL draft.
Now he’s headed into his fourth NFL season and second with the new coaching staff. Before the Browns step on the field, Mayfield had a simple message.
“Had to put the time in to let ‘em know what time it is” @justmike ….. Year 4 incoming for this small incapable walk on,” he said on Instagram.
During the 2020 season, Mayfield threw for just over 3,500 yards with 26 touchdowns to just eight interceptions. Heading into his second year in the offense, the former Oklahoma Sooners star should be much more comfortable.
Add in the fact that Cleveland brings back a healthy Odell Beckham Jr and the Browns offense could be scary in 2021.
After winning a playoff game and nearly upsetting the Kansas City Chiefs, Cleveland has its sights set on an AFC title game appearance.
