Bowie State and Team Maryland alum Bryce Montgomery was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the sixth round of the 2021 NHL draft. Montgomery was the 170th overall pick and plays defense.
Montgomery is a huge defenseman, at only 18 years old he is 6’5 220 pounds. Montgomery has spent the last two seasons playing for the London Knights in the OHL.
Montgomery played for the Washington little Caps under 14 team in 2016-2017, he spent time at Dematha Catholic Prep.
Montgomery is more of a stay-at-home defenseman but at his age skills can still develop.
