The basketball world was dealt some very unfortunate news this Saturday afternoon. Former Notre Dame forward Cam Biedscheid has reportedly passed away. He was only 27 years old.
NBA skills coach Drew Hanlen was first to announce the tragic news, as he wrote “Woke up to heartbreaking news this morning that Cam Biedscheid was shot and killed last night,” in an Instagram post earlier today.
Biedscheid used to work out often with Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal, but they eventually went their separate ways after high school.
Shortly after it was reported that Biedscheid passed away, Beal went on social media to offer his condolences to the Biedscheid family.
“Wish my boy would have lived out his dream the way he planned,” Beal tweeted. “Sick world. RIP CAM.”

Beal also had a message for anyone making unnecessary remarks about Biedscheid this afternoon.
“Let that man Rest In Peace, all the extras is unnecessary!!! We know the story, but today ain’t the day for it!! Rest up.”

Biedscheid began his college career with Notre Dame, averaging 6.2 points in 17.4 minutes per game. He then transferred to Missouri so he can be closer to home, but he left the program before ever suiting up for them because of personal matters.
Our thoughts are with Biedscheid’s family and friends during this difficult time.
