It looks like Dallas Cowboys kicker Greg Zuerlein will be activated off the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list soon.
Zuerlein has been sidelined following back surgery, but the Cowboys are reportedly set to release kicker Lirim Hajrullahu, who the team brought in last week.
This is a good indication that Zuerlein is ready to return and will be available to kick in the team’s preseason finale against the Jaguars this weekend.
The Cowboys added the 31-year-old Hajrullahu for last week’s game against the Houston Texans. He replaced punter and emergency kicker Hunter Niswander, who was placed on the waived/injured list.
Cowboys are waiving kicker Lirim Hajrullahu, source said, as they trim to 80-man roster. This is the strongest indicator yet that kicker Greg Zuerlein is on track for Week 1 and will make preseason debut Sunday vs. Jaguars. Zuerlein been on PUP List following back surgery.

Dallas will close out its preseason slate on Sunday before opening the 2021 regular season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on September 9.
