There can’t be many more stressful places in the NFL right now than the Green Bay Packers’ front office.
With reigning league MVP Aaron Rodgers rumored to retire and superstar wide receiver Davante Adams breaking off longterm contract negotiations on Friday, the Packers organization has quite a bit to figure out before the start of next season.
Former Green Bay front office executive turned Sports Illustrated columnist Andrew Brandt is happy he’s not around for this sticky situation.

Rodgers has been at odds with the Packers front office for quite some time now. The superstar quarterback’s relationship with team president Mark Murphy and general manager Brian Gutekunst really started to strain after a lack of communication involved in the drafting of QB Jordan Love. That drama paired with some failed contract negotiations has led to a severe rift between the 16-year quarterback and his organization.
“The people make an organization. People make a business and sometimes that gets forgotten.” Rodgers said in an interview with Kenny Mayne earlier this year. “Culture is built brick by brick, the foundation of it by the people. Not by the organization, not by the building, not by the corporation. It’s built by the people.”
Rodgers has yet to attend any offseason workouts this year.
The Packers will kickoff their first training camp practice on Wednesday.
