The Los Angeles Chargers defeated the Washington Football Team, 20-16, in Week 1 action on Sunday.
The Chargers dominated the first half, yet the Football Team trailed by just four points after Dustin Hopkins nailed a 48-yard field goal going into halftime.
Clearly, all the momentum favored Washington coming out of the break. Then, the Football Team took the ball down the field and scored their first touchdown of the game, and led 16-13.
Washington’s defense couldn’t get off the field on third down, and the Chargers pulled away for a hard-fought win. It was a tough loss for Washington, which also lost starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to a hip injury in the first half.
