It looks like there will be another Ball brother playing for the Charlotte Hornets, at least during NBA Summer League.
According to Rod Boone of SI.com’s All Hornets, LiAngelo Ball is expected to sign with the Hornets in time to be on the team’s roster for the upcoming Summer League in Las Vegas, which will run from August 8-17.
If this happens, it will be the first time LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball will be on the same team since they played together for Prenai Vytautas in Lithuania back in 2017-18. However, it is reportedly unlikely that they’ll actually get on the court together, as LaMelo probably won’t play in Las Vegas after winning Rookie of the Year honors this past season.
The 22-year-old LiAngelo has not played in an organized league in three seasons. He signed with the Oklahoma City Blue of the NBA G League in March 2020, but the league shut down due to COVID-19 days later.

LiAngelo later signed with the Detroit Pistons in training camp last December, but was waived without appearing in a pre-season game.
Once the deal for LiAngelo becomes finalized, all the Hornets need to do is find a way to acquire Lonzo Ball to complete the trifecta.
