In 1989, Jerry Jones purchased the Dallas Cowboys for roughly $150 million. It’s safe to say that ended up being a smart investment.
Prior to the start of the 2021 season, Forbes announced the most valuable NFL teams. The Cowboys are currently valued at $6.5 billion.
Despite how valuable the Cowboys are at this point in time, Jones made it clear that he has no intention of selling the franchise anytime soon. He explained why during an appearance on 105.3 The Fan this Tuesday.
“I’ve sold a lot of things in my time,” Jones said. “But everybody has heard me say, this is my heart, this is my legs. This is what we’re about.”
Jerry Jones on @1053thefan said no one has ever seriously offered to buy the Cowboys from him because there isn’t a chance of it happening.

Jones has always been very dedicated to the Cowboys. Back in July, he said there’s no place he would rather be in the world than at training camp.
At 78 years old, Jones desperately wants to see Dallas win its first Super Bowl title since 1995. He told reporters “I would do anything known to man to get into a Super Bowl, and that’s a fact.”
The Cowboys’ 2021 season didn’t start off on the right foot, but they certainly have the talent to be a playoff-caliber team. If they can make a playoff run this season, that would further validate Jones’ decision to not sell the franchise.
