When you think of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade teaming up, their two-championship stint with Miami likely comes to mind. But, their time on the same roster actually came well before that.
In 2008, the NBA’s most powerful pair of buds teamed up with Team USA — leading the country to a gold medal victory. While LeBron may be the Batman to Wade’s Robin, it was the latter who took the reigns during this championship run.
Through eight games with Team USA in 2008, Wade came off the bench and averaged a team-high 16.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 2.3 steals per game on an incredibly efficient 67.1% shooting from the field.
Not only did Wade log these stats, he did so in show-stopping fashion.
On Tuesday, well-known sports highlight page Timeless Sports posted some of the shooting guard’s best Team USA moments.
LeBron responded to this video with a simple message.
“!! ABSOLUTE PROBLEM!!!” he wrote on Twitter.

During that 2008 gold medal run, James followed close behind Wade in scoring with 15.5 ppg. He also logged team highs in steals (2.4) and blocks (1.0). Kobe Bryant ranked third in scoring with 15.0 ppg.
Through their time as a dynamic duo with the Heat, James and Wade mirrored this No. 1 and No. 2 scoring load. At the end of each of their four seasons together, LeBron finished just above his fellow 2003 draft mate.
Wade retired from basketball in 2019 and James declined to participate on this year’s 2020 Tokyo Olympic roster.
