Jim Harbaugh has won nearly 70% of his games at Michigan, leading his alma mater to three 10-win seasons and five bowl berths.
However, he has yet to win the most important game on the schedule: the annual rivalry matchup against Ohio State. Harbaugh is 0-5 against the Buckeyes, with last year’s game called off due to COVID-19.
Unfortunately for Harbaugh, until he actually beats Ohio State, he’s always going to be asked about beating Ohio State. His detractors will also have easy material to work with when criticizing the 57-year-old head coach.
Perhaps that’s why it is not surprising that a joke about Buckeye fans being happy that Harbaugh is back for his seventh season is going viral on Twitter.

Harbaugh enters 2021 coming off his only “bad” season at UM, and it happened during a pandemic-shortened campaign. Michigan went 2-4 in 2020, missing a bowl game for the first time since 2014.
In Harbaugh’s first five seasons in Ann Arbor, he won at least eight games every time. Can he lead the team back to that level this season? It’s definitely possible.
And if he can manage to finally knock off his arch rival, it will likely be his most successful season yet.
