UCF football has been knocking on the Florida Gators‘ door for years now in an attempt to schedule a home-and-home series. It’s finally happening.
The Knights and Gators will square off three times in the next 12 years. Florida will host UCF on Oct. 5 in the 2024 season. The Knights will then return home for the second matchup on Sept. 14 of the 2030 season. The series will wrap up in Gainesville on Sept. 3, 2033.
UCF football has been wanting to schedule a series with Florida for some time now. The Knights feel as though they’re on the same level as the Gators. We’ll find out in 2024.
The Knights had a three-word reaction to Florida finally agreeing to a series: “About dang time.” Talk about shade.

This falls in line with how Gus Malzahn wans to schedule non-conference opponents. He said back in February he’s perfectly fine with a two-for-one series where the Knights gets just one home game of the three-game series.
“I’ll play out in the parking lot,” Malzahn said, via Joey Knight of the Tampa Bay Times. “Terry can decide if we’re playing at home or on the road, or two-for-whatever. I just want to play ’em and I want to beat ’em.”
UCF has claimed plenty of titles these past few years. The Knights called themselves national champions after their undefeated season in 2017. They’ve also called themselves the best team in the state of Florida.
We’ll find out if the latter is true or not when UCF travels to Gainesville in 2024.
