Maria Taylor Posts Message From Olympics After Joining NBC

It shouldn’t really surprise any of us, but Maria Taylor is already making an impact for NBC Sports.

After wrapping up her career at ESPN on Tuesday night, Taylor signed a contract with NBC and flew out to Tokyo so she can cover the Olympics. NBC broadcaster Mike Tirico introduced Taylor to their audience on Friday night, saying “We’re thrilled to welcome a new member to our NBC Sports and Olympic family.”

Taylor was pretty quiet about her negotiations with NBC earlier this week, but she has finally shared her thoughts on the latest chapter of her career.

“Olympic dream come true,” Taylor tweeted late on Friday night.

Taylor has received so much support over the past few weeks, and deservedly so.

“We talk about hard work, we talk about talent – this is a whole nother level,” Tony Reali of Around The Horn said. “The Finals ended two minutes ago! We all barely left our couch! Maria Taylor signed off with ESPN, said hello to NBC- and is doing a little thing they call the freaking Olympics! Supreme work.” 

Taylor had an exceptional run at ESPN, working as a sideline reporter for college football and in-studio host for NBA coverage. It’ll be interesting to see what NBC has in store for one of the biggest stars in the media industry.
