After a 2-14 season in 2020, the New York Jets are looking forward to an improved season behind a new head coach/QB combo.
Most people agree that the additions of first year HC Robert Saleh and No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson will result in a few more victories — but not many people are quite as confident as ESPN analyst/Jets super-fan Mike Greenberg.
During today’s episode of Get Up on ESPN, Greenberg named the Jets as his AFC prediction for a team who didn’t make the playoffs in 2020 to make it in 2021.

This isn’t the first time Greenberg has gotten a little over excited about his Jets squad.
On Monday, the ESPN host said Zach Wilson, who went 6/9 for 63 yards against the Giants this weekend, had the best preseason debut of any rookie QB in the league. Bears first-year quarterback Justin Fields went 14/20 for 142 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions in a win over the Dolphins.
According to BetMGM, the Jets have the third worst odds (+600) to make the playoffs out of all 32 NFL teams, topping only the Houston Texans (+900) and the Detroit Lions (+700).
Despite an improved roster and coaching staff, the Jets win total line also ranks third to last at 6.0.
The only team to post a worse record than New York in 2020 was the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-15). With their new QB/coach combo of Trevor Lawrence and Urban Meyer, the Jags’ odds to make the playoffs are now at +350.
