Patrick Mahomes has his Kansas City Chiefs in a dogfight against the Cleveland Browns today in a rematch of last year’s playoffs. And as usual, there’s been at least one amazing throw in the process.
Trailing by nine early in the fourth quarter, the Kansas City Chiefs started a drive at the 25-yard line. On the very first play, Mahomes rolled out to his right under pressure.
Rather than throw the ball away, he heaved the ball downfield, where Tyreek Hill was waiting to grab it. After securing it, Hill outran the Browns defender for a 75-yard touchdown.
It was a spectacular play that had CBS broadcaster Tony Romo giddy. And he wasn’t the only one. The clip of Mahomes’ big play is going viral for obvious reasons:

Not everyone was over the moon about the play though. FOX Sports commentator Skip Bayless, who refuses to accept that anyone other than Tom Brady or Dak Prescott can be an elite quarterback, criticized the play for being “lucky.”
Lucky circus throw by Mahomes. Could’ve been picked. John Johnson got turned around, couldn’t find it. Tyreek, touchdown.

Whether that play was lucky or not, the Chiefs got even more lucky a few minutes later as the Browns punter botched a snap, giving them the ball inside the 20.
A few plays later, the Chiefs scored another touchdown to take a 33-29 lead.
The Chiefs still hold that lead with 3:45 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Will Patrick Mahomes lead the Chiefs to victory?
