Odell Beckham Jr. burst on to the NFL scene with a stellar debut season in 2014, leading the league in yards per game with a staggering 108.8. Now, the Cleveland Browns star believes one incoming rookie can follow in his footsteps.
In the comments of a recent Instagram post, OBJ shared his high praise for the New York Jets’ No. 34 overall selection Elijah Moore.
“He’s the one!!! Lol I swear just wait,” Beckham wrote, “he kno Shxt I didn’t kno at tht age… mark my words ! May be all pro as a rookie.”

Through his junior season with the Ole Miss Rebels in 2020, Moore logged 86 receptions for 1,193 yards and eight touchdowns. On 101 targets, the talented young receiver had just two drops — the lowest drop rate in the SEC, per ProFootballFocus.
Despite his stellar collegiate numbers, Moore slid all the way back into the second round of this year’s draft. Looking to prove his doubters wrong in his rookie season, the projected New York backup has the names of each wide receiver selected before him written on his mirror.
“I’m going to show them why I should have gone first,” Moore said, per Connor Hughes of The Athletic.

While Moore has already made quite the splash at training camp, the first-year pro is set to begin his NFL career on the Jets’ second unit.
“It’s a competitive group. From top to bottom it’s an extremely competitive group,” offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur said, per NewYorkJets.com. “Obviously you guys look out there with the ones and you’re going to see Corey [Davis] and Jamison [Crowder], they’ve played a lot of ball in this league and they’ve done a lot of good things. But you go right down that list and I don’t care if it’s with the twos or threes, the way that we script with receivers it doesn’t matter what offensive line they’re in with and a lot of times it doesn’t even really matter what quarterback they’re in with.”
Moore will look to prove himself and Beckham right in 2021.
