This afternoon’s game of the weekend will feature an exciting matchup between No. 3 Ohio State and No. 12 Oregon. But unfortunately, the Ducks will be without two of their brightest stars.
According to reports from Sports Illustrated, a source within the Oregon program has confirmed that defensive stars Kayvon Thibodeaux and Justin Flowe will not play in today’s marquee matchup.
Thibodeaux, arguably the best college football player in the nation, is coming off an ankle injury he suffered in the first half of his team’s season-opener against Fresno State last weekend. The absence of this projected early first-round defensive end will be a huge blow for the Ducks against an explosive Ohio State offense.
Kayvon Thibodeaux and Justin Flowe are both OUT for Oregon today. Both are in street clothes and neither will play against Ohio State. Flowe has a walking boot on his right foot.

Through his first two seasons in Eugene, Thibodeaux logged 77 tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss and 12.0 sacks. During his short time on the field last Saturday, he continued that dominance with a sack and a forced fumble.
Flowe, a five-star linebacker recruit, notched his first meaningful time as a Duck this past Saturday, logging a team-high 14 tackles and forcing a pivotal fourth-quarter fumble. Unfortunately, a broken foot will keep him on the sidelines for the foreseeable future.
The Ducks will kickoff against the Buckeyes in Ohio Stadium at 12 p.m. ET this afternoon.
