Paul Finebaum Reacts To Ohio State’s Loss On Saturday

Paul Finebaum makes comments about roy Williams.

College football analyst Paul Finebaum usually jumps for joy when a non-SEC team with national title hopes loses a big game. But Ohio State’s loss to Oregon on Saturday has prompted a different reaction from him.

Appearing on SportsCenter, Finebaum called it “hard to explain” what happened to Ohio State in the game. He credited Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal and offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead with creating a brilliant gameplan.

As for Ohio State, he noted that their defense couldn’t get a stop and their offense couldn’t get enough going. Finebaum believes that Ohio State’s road to the College Football Playoff is now “very complicated.”

“It’s hard to explain what happened yesterday at The Horseshoe,” Finebaum said. “Especially when you consider that Oregon, coming into the game, without its two best players and maybe the best player in college football (in defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux).”

“And (Oregon) just did everything right. Mario Cristobal is an ascending coach.…The key to the game was really Joe Moorhead,” said Finebaum. “Ohio State’s defense couldn’t stop anything. Their offense couldn’t get anything going, and in the end their path to the Playoff is very complicated.”

IT’S AN UPSET IN COLUMBUS!

Ohio State never led in their game against Oregon and struggled to contain the Ducks’ rushing attack. Despite coming within a touchdown in the fourth quarter, the Buckeyes just couldn’t get the win.

The 35-28 loss was the first regular season loss for Ohio State since Ryan Day took over as head coach. It was their first-ever loss to Oregon, their first regular season loss in nearly three years and first loss to a Pac-12 team in over a decade.

Will the Buckeyes overcome this loss and reach the College Football Playoff?
