The Seattle Seahawks are counting on Pro-Bowl offensive tackle Duane Brown to protect Russell Wilson‘s blind side this upcoming season.
Prior to Monday, Brown hadn’t practiced at all during training camp in the midst of a contract dispute with the Seahawks. He has just one year left on his contract and would like to lock down his future deal now as opposed to next year.
Now, it looks like a deal could finally be close. Believe it or not, Brown practiced with the Seahawks on Monday. Better yet, head coach Pete Carroll told reporters on Monday afternoon that the talented offensive lineman will play when Seattle takes on Indianapolis this Sunday.
This is a good sign with just six days to go until the Seahawks’ 2021 season opener.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport offered further context on the situation.
According to his report, Brown and the Seahawks are working on a “contract adjustment.”

Duane Brown’s availability will prove critical to Russell Wilson and the Seahawks’ offensive success this upcoming season. It doesn’t sound like he’s going to be holding out any longer.
The Seahawks should be in the thick of the tightly-contested NFC West race this fall. Any team within the division is capable of winning the NFC West title by season’s end. With Wilson under center, you can’t count out Seattle.
Brown, Wilson and the Seahawks begin the 2021 campaign at 1 p.m. ET this Sunday, Sept. 12 against the Indianapolis Colts.
