The Las Vegas Raiders are working quickly to reorganize after the abrupt resignation of head coach Jon Gruden. But on Wednesday, Raiders owner Mark Davis gave an update on the team’s situation.
Speaking to ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez, Davis refused to comment on the situation regarding Gruden. He redirected Gutierrez to “ask the NFL” for details on that front.
“I have no comment,” Davis said, per Gutierrez. “Ask the NFL. They have all the answers.”
As for how the team will be structured moving forward, Davis confirmed that general manager Mike Mayock now has 51-percent control over roster decisions. Raiders interim head coach Rich Bisaccia will have 49-percent control.
Before, Gruden had 51-percent control while Mayock had 49-percent.
Just spoke with #Raiders owner Mark Davis: “I have no comment. Ask the NFL. They have all the answers.” Also confirmed that Mike Mayock remains GM and now has 51 percent control of roster decisions, with interim coach Rich Bisaccia at 49 percent. Was Gruden 51/Mayock 49 before.

Jon Gruden resigned earlier this week following the release of numerous emails where he used inappropriate language directed at other people in the NFL over the course of a decade. Owner Mark Davis accepted the resignation of the Raiders head coach, but the fallout didn’t end there.
Gruden was subsequently removed from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Ring of Honor. He has also lost prominent sponsors.
The Raiders are 3-2 and coming off back-to-back losses to the Los Angeles Chargers and Chicago Bears. They have the personnel needed to make some noise all the way into December, but they need to get their heads on straight quickly.
Will the Raiders make the playoffs this year?
