Last week, the NFL made several announcements making it abundantly clear the league wants players to be vaccinated before the 2021 season kicks off.
The NFL announced teams will be forced to forfeit games if a COVID-19 outbreak occurs due to an unvaccinated player. The league also said players will be fined for breaking protocol and lose game checks if a game is forfeited.
With all of that in mind, NFL coaches are doing everything possible to make sure their teams are vaccinated. However, Washington Football Team head coach Ron Rivera said he is “truly frustrated” with the players who are not vaccinated.
“Ron Rivera is ‘perplexed, truly frustrated, beyond frustrated’ that so many of his players remain unvaccinated,” Washington insider David Aldridge reported. “He pointed out that his cancer treatment last year has left him immune deficient, requiring him to put masks on in almost all gatherings with players.”

Ron Rivera has reason to be frustrated. As someone who is immune deficient, it appears his players don’t have his well-being at the forefront of their minds.
Washington and the Los Angeles Rams reportedly have the lowest vaccination rates around the league.
We’ll have to wait and see if Rivera’s comments lead to change within the organization.
