No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence has long been dubbed the next great NFL quarterback. And with Jaguars training camp now underway, we’re finally getting a look at the former Clemson standout in professional action.
Earlier today, the Jags suited up for a full-pads, 11 vs. 11 scrimmage at TIAA Bank Field.
One Jacksonville fan caught a beautiful angle of a successful deep ball launched down the field by Lawrence. Rolling to his right, the rookie QB slung the ball back across the field to a receiver taking a post route to the left sideline. He led his wideout perfectly, dropping the pass in away from the defender.
Jags fans are loving this look from their QB1.
“My QB,” the fan wrote above the video.

As one of the most highly-touted quarterback prospects in NFL history, Lawrence is expected to make an immediate impact on the Jaguars roster in 2021. While he clearly has the talent to do this, he’s still just a 21-year-old rookie.
There’ve been plenty of amazing throws like this so far in training camp — but an equal number of first-year mistakes as well.
“He is doing really good — the last day or two there has been good and there has been bad,” passing game coordinator Brian Schottenheimer said on Saturday, per FanNation.
Coming as a surprise to no one, Lawrence has taken the vast majority of starting reps ahead of third-year QB Gardner Minshew in training camp practices so far.
It’s still unclear how much Lawrence is expected to play in the Jaguars’ upcoming preseason schedule beginning on Aug. 14.
