The Washington Football Team was ranked No. 2 in total defense in 2020, and a big reason for that was the play of the secondary.
Washington’s top three corners in 2020 were Kendall Fuller, Ronald Darby and Jimmy Moreland. In the offseason, Washington allowed Darby to sign with the Denver Broncos in free agency.
However, instead of panicking, Washington actually improved, signing former Cincinnati Bengal William Jackson III to play opposite Fuller.
Landon Collins was beginning to find his groove at safety until an Achilles injury ended his season in Week 7. That paved the way for rookie seventh-round pick Kamren Curl, who took over for Collins and proved to be quite the find.
