The iconic video game “Madden NFL 22” is set to be released worldwide in just three weeks. Now, ESPN is taking advantage of the game’s popularity by hosting a “ratings week” on its network.
Each day this week, ESPN will release Madden ratings for different positions.
On Monday, “Madden NFL 22” named the top 10 edge rushers in the NFL. Washington’s Chase Young — the reigning NFL defensive rookie of the year — should be a lock for the list, right?
No, Young did not make Madden’s list of top 10 edge rushers in the NFL. Earlier this week, Young said that he should have at least a 90 overall rating on Washington’s Twitter page.
Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns topped the list with a 98 overall rating. That wasn’t a surprise.

The big surprise was J.J. Watt coming in at No. 5. The 32-year-old has just nine sacks combined in the last two seasons. Yes, Watt is a future Hall of Famer, but Madden’s ratings may be based on Watt’s career than who he is currently.
Watt is still a good player. Is he better than Young right now? That’s debatable.
If Young stays healthy in 2021 and beyond, he should climb this list with ease in future seasons.
Some Washington fans chimed in on the comments. The team’s official Twitter page even got into the fun.
