Michigan State football got off to an explosive start versus Youngstown State on Saturday afternoon.
The Spartans began the game on offense and didn’t take long to find the end-zone. On their first play of the game, Michigan State ran a flea-flicker and it worked to perfection.
Quarterback Payton Thorne handed the ball off to running back Kenny Walker, who then proceeded to flip the ball back to Thorne. Thorne then launched the ball downfield to a wide-open Jayden Reed who raced to the end-zone for a touchdown. Michigan State 7, Youngstown State 0.
Take a look.

That’s how you start a football game. Though it’s pretty funny the Spartans drew up a trick play against a team like Youngstown State. Talk about toying with your opponent.
Michigan State football got off to a good start to the 2021 season last week by beating Northwestern 38-21. Thorne completed 15 of his 25 pass attempts for 185 yards and a touchdown. It was Kenny Walker who stole the show though.
Walker ran the ball 23 times for a staggering 264 yards and four – yes four – touchdowns against a feisty Northwestern defense. The Michigan State running back is going to be a major issue for opposing Big Ten defenses this season.
Michigan State, meanwhile, is looking to move to 2-0 today. You can catch the rest of the Spartans’ showdown with Youngstown State on Big Ten Network.
