It’s a cold world.
It took a total of 102 points to lead the league this round, with The Losada goes a little slower doing the deed.
BL4CKnRED still leads overall, and their lead has been extended to eight points.
Jonathan Klinsmann (LAG, $5.3) is officially the most accomplished Klinsmann in American soccer history, as he led all goalkeepers with 10 points on the strength of a clean sheet. Behind him was a pair of 9-point, clean sheet players — JT Marcinkowski (SJ, $7.9) and Sean Johnson (NY, $7.3). For DCU, Jon Kempin ($4.6) scored 1 point.
Chicago’s Francisco Calvo ($7.8) led the defenders with a clean sheet and 11 points. Behind him was a whole rack of players with 10 points, including Nathan (SJ, $9.4), who kept a clan sheet, and DCU’s Frederic Brillant ($6.2), who scored a goal. The remaining scoring defender for D.C. was Steven Birnbaum ($4.2) with 1 point.
Nashville’s Alex Muyl ($4.0) scored two goals and 13 points, leading the midfielders, just ahead of his teammate Hany Mukhtar ($10.5), who paired a goal with an assist for 12 points. Seattle’s Joao Paolo ($9.7) rounded out the top three with 11 points on two assists. The United midfield was led by Julian Gressel ($10.0) with 9 points, followed by Paul Arriola ($7.4) with 6, Junior Moreno ($7.0) with 4, the pair of Kevin Paredes ($5.3) and Drew Skundrich ($4.4) with 2, and the duo of Edison Flores ($6.7) and Moses Nyeman ($4.0) with 1.
CJ Sapong (NSH, $7.4) scored two goals and 14 points, leading all forwards and all players. It was a cold world for DCU. Seattle’s Raul Ruidiaz ($8.8) scored two goals and 13 points, just ahead of his running mate Fredy Montero ($7.4), who did the same for 12 points. United’s scoring forwards were Ola Kamara ($10.4) with 7 points, and Yordy Reyna ($5.0) with 2.
Nashville and LAFC play once, and everyone else plays twice this round. I still like Matt Turner (NE, $7.5) in goal with home games vs. DCU and (especially) Cincinnati, and in defense I’m saving some money with Marcelo Silva (RSL, $7.6) vs. Houston and @ Colorado. Don’t forget about Alejandro Pozuelo (TOR, $9.4) in the midfield @ both Atlanta and Miami, and Josef Martinez (ATL, $8.3) is worth it at forward for his home game against Toronto, (and also @ DCU).
