This past Saturday on October 21st the UMBC Retrievers took on the UVM Catamounts’s for what became an exciting matchup. Change Begins: Chris Holt no longer pitching coach, assistant Darren Holmes leaves organization.
MASN’s Roch Kubatko announced this morning that Chris Holt will no longer be the pitching coach. The Baltimore Orioles hired him as their minor league pitching coordinator in 2019. Holt worked with GMs Mike Elias and Sig Mejdal with the Astros and followed them to Baltimore. Holt was promoted to pitching coach in 2021 to replace Doug Brocail. Baltimore Orioles make significant promotions throughout their scouting department.
Now that the offseason is in full swing, the Baltimore Orioles have begun reworking their scouting department. No huge changes were made however, as the Orioles are staying in-house for the majority of their positions. The Orioles announced that they have claimed left-hander Tucker Davidson off waivers from the Royals. The O’s already had an open roster spot and won’t need to make a corresponding move.
