The Orioles selected the contract of right-hander Chayce McDermott, who will start Wednesday night’s game against Miami. McDermott who was 3-5 with a 3.96 earned-run average in 20 games, 19 starts, for Triple-A Norfolk, will be making his major league debut. In 91 innings, McDermott struck out 129 and walked 54. What happened? Jazz Chisholm Jr.’s two-run, bad-hop double keyed a three-run seventh inning that gave the Miami Marlins a 6-3 win over the Orioles on Wednesday night. Orioles place Mateo on injured list with elbow injury, recall Norby and Baker, option McDermott
The Orioles placed infielder Jorge Mateo on the 10-day injured list retroactive to Wednesday because of left elbow subluxation (dislocated elbow).
