Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reported that Yegor Chinakhov has not been happy with his role of late. Capitals Name Patrick Wellar Interim Assistant Coach, Hire Brent Thompson
The Capitals have promoted Patrick Wellar to their NHL coaching staff on an interim basis, Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post reports. It will be his first NHL role after spending the past several years working as an assistant for Washington’s AHL affiliate in Hershey. Capitals’ Clay Stevenson Possible Waiver Claim Candidate
Kevin Weekes of ESPN noted earlier today that the Washington Capitals may be in danger of losing goaltender Clay Stevenson on waivers, as he has impressed in camp so far.
