The Washington Nationals are asking 22 year old Brady House to save them as losing streak churns on
No pressure Brady, all you have to do is save the Nationals season! With the Washington Nationals losing streak at 8 games, they finally decided top prospect Brady House was ready.
The #Nats are calling up their No. 3 prospect, Brady House, for what would be his big league debut, per @JessicaCamerato‘s source.

After a difficult season in 2024 where his lack of plate discipline got exposed, Brady House has bounced back in a big way. He worked very hard in the offseason, training with former MVP Paul Goldschmidt. That hard work has paid off as House has put up big numbers in AAA.
In 260 at bats, House is hitting .304 with 13 homers and an .872 OPS. While he still doesn’t walk a ton, House is walking more this season and his approach is improving. In his 224 AB’s at Triple-A last year, he walked only 3% of the time. This year it is at a much more manageable 7%.
House is still striking out quite a bit, punching out at a 27% clip in AAA. However, he makes enough hard contact to overcome those whiff problems. House already has 29 extra base hits this season in Rochester.
Brady House is heading to the show!
House has flown under the radar despite a good season in AAA, hitting .301/.349/.516 with 13 HR and 39 RBI in 64 games

With his somewhat raw approach and tendency to whiff, it could take House some time to adjust to big league pitching. However, the Nats are giving him a soft touch to start, throwing him in against a bad Rockies pitching staff.
I like that move by the Nationals. However, if they were going to do that, why not call him up before the Marlins series. My one worry is that the team is calling him up expecting him to be the savior. With the losing streak at 8 games, this is a tough, tension filled situation for a young kid to walk into.
This seemed very abrupt and almost an attempt to distract. With the losing streak at 8 games and Davey Martinez under pressure after his explosive comments, is this just a roll of the dice or a thought out plan?
Regardless, I am excited to see House get his shot. With the numbers he is putting up, you can’t say he hasn’t earned it. House will also help the Nats in the field. The platoon of Jose Tena and Amed Rosario has been decent at the plate but a train wreck in the field. House’s glove at the third base position is well regarded.
The 2021 first round pick has slowly climbed the ladder, struggling at times, but always using those challenges to get better. One thing I have loved about House’s development is whenever he had a rough season and people counted him out, he always came back better than ever the next year.
In 2022, he had a tough year where he was playing through injury. His stock fell because of that. However, he bounced back in 2023, going all the way from Low-A to Double-A. House was back on the map as a top 50 prospect. However, he struggled again in 2024 with his approach being exposed by higher level pitching. House dropped off top 100 lists and was counted out. However, he is back and better than ever this year. He is back on top 100 lists and is now a big leaguer.
Based on this pattern, it is very possible that we see some early struggles from House as he adjusts to the new level. After all, big league pitchers are the best in the world and they know how to exploit holes in your approach. However, if we have learned one thing about Brady House it is to never count him out. When he gets written off, he always comes back better than ever.
Congrats on the call up Brady! It has been a long road to get here, but it is exciting to see his non-linear development culminate in a big league call up. Now it is time for you to save the Nats Brady, no pressure!
