The Nats finish off the first half of the season by trying to avoid a sweep in Milwaukee
Things were looking up for the Nationals for awhile last night, as they let 5-3 entering the 9th inning. Everything seemed to fall apart from there however, as Kyle Finnegan got only 1 out and gave up 3 runs as the Nats lost to the Brewets 6-5. They’ll look to avoid a sweep as they close out the first half of the season and make their critical selection at first overall in the MLB Draft after the game.
The most notable change in the lineup for the Nats is James Wood getting the first off day of his career, as he has struggled mightily the last week or so, going 0-5 with 4 Ks yesterday. Getting the ball for the Nationals will be Jake Irvin, who went 6 innings and allowed 4 runs in his last start versus the Cardinals.

The Brewers run out their usual lineup for this first half closing game, with Andrew Vaughn, who has smoked the Nats this series, getting the day off. On the mound for the Brew Crew is their ace Freddy Peralta, who went 6 scoreless innings against the Dodgers in his last start.
