Follow along as the Nationals look to take the series against the Cubs
The Nationals evened up the series against the Cubs thanks to a MacKenzie Gore masterclass and some timely hitting. Now they will look to take another series. The Nats are getting closer and closer to that elusive .500 mark.
Jake Irvin will take the mound for the Nats. He was roughed up in his last outing after a great start before that. Irvin will look to get back on track. The Nats lineup is a bit unusual due to the Cubs using an opener. With a lefty opener, Amed Rosario will be in at third batting second. Alex Call will also get another start after a good game yesterday. Despite his heroics, Nasim Nunez will be back on the bench.

The Cubs have Drew Pomeranz as their “starter”. However, Ben Brown will be the guy getting the bulk innings. Kyle Tucker is back in the lineup after pinch hitting yesterday. The Cubs star was out with a finger injury the first two games of the series. That moves Seiya Suzuki to DH. Backup catcher Reese McGuire will start behind the dish.
Nats series, night three.
