Follow along as the Nationals take on the Rockies in the first half of a double header
After yesterday’s wild win, the Nationals and Rockies are back for a double header. Some early spring snow postponed Friday’s scheduled game and necessitated a double header. Getting the sweep and turning a 2-5 road trip into a 5-5 trip would be massive.
The Nats are running out a different looking lineup this afternoon. James Wood remains in the leadoff spot, but a lot has changed below him. Keibert Ruiz will get the night game, meaning Riley Adams will catch this afternoon. Amed Rosario is in at second base and batting second. Trey Lipscomb will also get his first action of the season at third base. Jake Irvin will take the mound looking to build on his masterful performance in Pittsburgh.

For the Rockies, Mickey Moniak will move up to the leadoff spot after a three hit day in yesterday’s thriller. Big name prospects Zach Veen and Adael Amador will also get starts after not playing yesterday. Veteran southpaw Kyle Freeland will take the mound for the Rockies.

Hopefully the bats can pick up where they left off and the bullpen can turn a new leaf. Speaking of that bullpen, Andry Lara will be with the team for the double header. Comment your thoughts down below and let’s go Nats!
