Can the Nats snap the losing streak or will it roll into the double digits
The Washington Nationals have lost nine straight baseball games. With Kyle Finnegan blowing a save last night, the Nats chances of an elusive win vanished into the damp DC night. However, they are back tonight and still playing the team with the worst record in baseball, the Colorado Rockies.
CJ Abrams will return to the leadoff spot tonight after a two game trial run as a three hitter. Last night’s leadoff man Alex Call will be out of the lineup, with the embattled Davey Martinez choosing an outfield of James Wood, Jacob Young and Daylen Lile. Brady House will play in his second career game tonight, starting at third base. Keibert Ruiz and Nathaniel Lowe will also return to the lineup. Michael Soroka will take the ball with the Nats looking to stop the streak.

The trio of Micky Moniak, Tyler Freeman and Hunter Goodman punished the Nats last night and they will be the first three names on the Rockies lineup card. Two of the Rockies best players from last year, Brenton Doyle and Michael Toglia have fallen on hard times and are hitting sixth and seventh. Speaking of falling on hard times, the struggling Antonio Senzatela will the take the mound.

The Nationals losing streak is bad enough now, but letting it reach double digits against this Rockies team would be embarrassing. Nine games is tied for the second longest losing streak in team history. That happened in 2022. The team record is 12 from 2008. Both of those seasons they lost 100 games.
