Follow along as the Nationals offense looks to bounce back after being shutout last night
After a walk off win on Friday, the Nationals followed that up by being shutout. In what seems to be a pattern, the Nats have been unable to build on strong performances. Today, they will take on the Mets in the third game of a four game set.
Davey Martinez is stacking the top of his lineup with lefties. The first four hitters are all left handed and even the number five hitter Josh Bell is a switch hitter. After last night’s loss, the better hitting Alex Call will replace glove first Jacob Young. This moves Dylan Crews over to center field.
Keibert Ruiz will get a rare day off, with Riley Adams starting behind the plate. Mitchell Parker will take the mound, looking to keep up his stellar start to 2025.

We will see some new faces in the Mets lineup too. Luis Torrens and Starling Marte will get their first starts of the series with a left hander on the mound. The formidable top 3 of Francisco Lindor, Juan Soto and Pete Alonso remains in tact. Not many pitchers have been better than Tylor Megill to start the season. The right hander has a 1.09 ERA through his first five starts.
