Follow along as the Nats head to San Diego to take on the Padres
With the Juan Soto trade, the Nationals and Padres will forever be connected. The Nats three best players all came from San Diego’s system. For the James Wood, this will be his first trip to San Diego to show Padres fans what they missed out on. On the field, the Nats desperately need to get going.
The lineup will remain unchanged. Keibert Ruiz is back to having a big workload despite his subpar production. After a monster weekend, Nathaniel Lowe will remain in the cleanup spot as well. James Wood will hit second as he visits the team that drafted him for the first time. Mitchell Parker, who is coming off his best start in a while will take the mound.

The top of the Padres lineup is intimidating to look at. Fernando Tatis Jr., Jackson Merrill and Manny Machado make up one of the best trios atop a lineup in the league. They also have contact king Luis Arraez and Gavin Sheets, who is having a big year. Stephen Kolek will take the mound for the Padres.
