Follow along as the Nationals take on the Rangers in a rubber match
After the Nationals shut out the Rangers in game one of the series, Texas returned the favor last night. A Jacob Degrom masterclass lifted the Rangers to a 5-0 win. The streaky Nationals offense needs to get back on track. They have been very quiet this home stand.
Davey Martinez is switching things up to try to ignite his offense. The struggling CJ Abrams is getting the day off. That means we will see the scrappy Nasim Nunez at shortstop. With a lefty on the mound, Alex Call will lead off, and Jacob Young will return to the lineup. Keibert Ruiz is really struggling and will be on the bench again for Riley Adams. Trevor Williams will take the ball in this rubber game.

The Rangers are also doing some mixing and matching to their lineup. Josh Smith is getting the start at first base with a righty on the mound. Corey Seager will be back in the lineup after a day off yesterday. The Rangers will roll with an opener today with reliever Jacob Latz starting the ball game.

The Nationals have not hit well this home stand. However, with a win today, they could salvage a .500 home stand. With Trevor Williams on the mound, the bats will need to step up. Hopefully the inconsistent offense can kick back into gear. Follow along down below and let’s go Nats!
