Surprise opened the scoring with a two-out RBI single by Max Acosta (Texas).
The Rafters then proceeded to score three runs off of Stephan. The Saguaros’ biggest threat came in the fifth inning when they loaded the bases with two outs. Acosta knocked in the team’s second run of the game but that’s all the offense Surprise could muster. They had two on with two outs in the ninth but couldn’t get a run across, finishing 2 for 10 with runners in scoring position and leaving 11 on base.
