I have to object to the letter writer lauding President Donald Trump for “being in charge” — which seems to mean being an attention hog — and the myopic claim that Joe Biden didn’t accomplish anything (“At least with Trump, we know who’s in charge,” July 1). Remember the ongoing joke about Trump’s “Infrastructure Week,” which was just a photo-op to massage his ego? And how Biden actually got the infrastructure bill through Congress, with projects that help everybody? How about addressing the COVID-19 pandemic that Trump fumbled? Most people paying attention acknowledge that the Biden administration accomplished a lot in its first two years with a slim majority in Congress. Trump? He’s tearing apart the social safety net and giving tax breaks to billionaires, cozying up to “Vladimir.” How is that playing out in Taneytown? Well, at least we know who’s in charge!
