I wholeheartedly agree with Matt Morgan that the last thing the citizens of Maryland need is an increase in the gas tax (“Steering Maryland away from automatic gas tax hikes,” March 5).
I suggest that to increase revenue to the Transportation Trust Fund we levy a fee of $250 per year on electric vehicle (EV) owners. As they aren’t buying gas, they’re not paying the tax, but still using our roads, bridges and tunnels. They need to contribute like the rest of us.
