The Orioles have unveiled renderings of the new video board, to be installed before the 2026 season.
A new, larger scoreboard is officially coming to Oriole Park at Camden Yards next year. The Orioles announced on Tuesday afternoon that the promised video renovations that had been approved by the Maryland Stadium Authority will take place following the season, to be completed before the start of the 2026.
According to the Orioles, the new video board will measure 7,466 square feet, making it the 12th-largest scoreboard across all MLB stadiums. Kind of funny to do a brand new one and it’s only 12th, but some of the new ones are comically large and I don’t know that is always an improvement. The team will also be improving the out-of-town scoreboard in right field, a 1,333 square foot area.
The Orioles release also includes the number of brand new pixels on the scoreboards in the stadium. That numbers nearly 17 million, and it’s not because of these big scoreboards either.
Much of the new pixel real estate is going to be on a ribbon board that wraps the whole way around the club level – 8.2 million pixels worth, or 1,125 feet worth of ribbon board. This is a common sight in stadiums that were built more recently or even older ones that have been upgraded more recently. A much smaller number of pixels (about 300,000) will be added or changed along the upper deck board.
Okay, so what is it all going to look like? This is a cropped screenshot of one of the renderings provided by the Orioles:

That is a large-looking scoreboard. It’s also not that much larger than the amount of space that’s already taken up by the center field scoreboards. It’s just that instead of two screens, one of which is smaller and has large ads on either side of it, the whole space is a giant scoreboard.
You can get a sense from the above rendering that it is a bit bigger than what’s there already. The big sponsor’s logo above the scoreboard is present currently, as well as the steelwork at the top of the scoreboard. This thing will, assuming it looks like this rendering, be taller and wider while also not breaking up the view from the roof top deck or marring the view of either the Warehouse or the parts of the city skyline that have been visible out beyond center field.
The website where the Orioles have put several renderings of the new board has a headline promising “New Video & Audio Renovation Upgrades.” There’s a decent bit about the video part of the upgrade and nothing yet about the audio.
