The Parking Authority of Baltimore City says free garage parking will end at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, giving residents more time before normal rates resume.
At that point, standard garage operations and fees will take effect. Officials urged residents currently parked in garages to begin making plans to move their vehicles back to residential streets.
The extension applies to the following garages:
- Baltimore Street Garage, 15 Guilford Ave.
- Fell & Eden Garage, 501 S. Eden St.
- Franklin Street Garage, 15 W. Franklin St.
- Penn Station Garage, 1511 N. Charles St.
- Saint Paul Street Garage, 210 St. Paul St.
- West Street Garage, 40 E. West St.
- Caroline Street Garage, 805 S. Caroline St.
- Little Italy Garage, 400 S. Central Ave.
Meanwhile, Johns Hopkins University’s South Garage off Wyman Park Drive will remain open to the public for free parking through 7 p.m. Sunday.
The Parking Authority first announced Friday that eight city garages would offer free parking starting Saturday at noon through Monday evening. That was extended twice as residents scrambled to find legal parking with snow emergency routes off-limits across the city.
Parking along designated routes is prohibited during snow emergencies, and vehicles left there are subject to relocation to allow plowing.
As of Tuesday night, three garages — Little Italy, West Street and Caroline Street — were at capacity.
