The battle for the basement begins
Tonight’s game between the Orioles and White Sox has been rescheduled from 7 pm to 4:30 pm as heavy storms are forecasted for later today. Much of the area is in a flood watch, so be careful out there, everyone. Let’s hope this game gets finished before the rain begins.
Zach Eflin is slated to start for the Orioles and hopefully he’ll look more like pre-injured list Eflin, because the last few games have been rough. Over two starts, he has given up 13 runs in just 10.1 innings. That isn’t good. Hopefully a sub-par White Sox lineup will be just what he needs to get back on track.
Sean Burke and his 4.33 ERA are starting for the White Sox, but Burke has had good results over the past month despite not many strikeouts and a fair number of walks. He is also probably looking forward to facing a sub-par lineup.
If you’re hoping the Orioles have come to their senses and moved Adley Rutschman out of the two-hole, I have some bad news for you. The top six of the lineup is the same as yesterday, with the team’s best hitter down at number five.
To avoid leaving the weekend in last place, the Orioles need to win one game over the next three.
