You know what must be done.
It is Friday night.
The Orioles have beaten the Rays, 2-0. Dean Kremer started the party by pitching six no-hit innings, only allowing a hit to lead off the seventh. Kremer’s outing, don’t forget, came days after he took a line drive off the wrist and had a terrible-looking welt.
The Rays only had three hits over the whole game, which meant that Jackson Holliday’s sacrifice fly and Gunnar Henderson’s solo shot for his 36th homer of the season were enough to win. Seranthony Domínguez closed out the game with a four-out save, coming up clutch even after a ninth-inning error made things hairy.
With the win, the Orioles preserve a half-game lead in the AL East. Their magic number to clinch any playoff spot is 11 and 15 to clinch at least being the home wild card team with 20 games still to play.
YOU KNOW WHAT MUST BE DONE.
