The holiday weekend gets underway with Game 1 of an inter-league series in Atlanta.
It feels like the Fourth of July should be a day game. And if this game were taking place on any other day of the week it probably would be. But a Friday night game with some typical Independence Day fare on your plate isn’t so bad.
Tyler O’Neill is back in action tonight after a lengthy IL stint. He is just DH’ing, which feels like the right spot for him give the O’s other outfield options.
Charlie Morton will start on the mound, where he looks to get back on track after a middling start against the Rays in his last outing. At this point the 41-year-old is auditioning for contenders that may want a veteran upgrade at the back of the rotation. So there are some stakes here.
Let’s get the holiday weekend started with a win!
